Accountability
Beautiful skin starts with care – and so does caring for our planet. At Apeer, we strive to take responsibility for both.
We continuously work with selected UN Sustainable Development Goals and have, among other things, chosen to use PCR plastic in our packaging, reduce the use of plastic film as much as possible, and use FSC-certified cardboard and paper when possible. Our products all come without boxes, which we believe is a more conscious choice.
Our products are developed based on dermatological standards and contain active ingredients carefully selected with a focus on both efficacy and responsibility. We do not compromise on quality – but we are constantly working to find ways to improve our processes, products, and footprint.
As a newer company, we are aware that we cannot do everything at once. But we can make responsible choices and continuously improve – and that is exactly what we strive for.

How we work with responsibility
01. Production
All our products are developed in Denmark and manufactured in Europe. We work closely with the factory that produces our skincare products, which gives us insight into the production processes and allows for continuous dialogue about ethics and responsibility. This collaboration also makes it easier for us to ensure that our requirements for responsible and ethical production are met.

How we work with responsibility
02. Packaging
We only use PCR plastic packaging. We also use glass packaging as an alternative to plastic. We want to support a circular mindset by using PCR plastic, but also encourage you, who buy our products, to consider reusing before recycling.

How we work with responsibility
03. Transport
All our products are produced within the EU, where our valuable goods are transported to our warehouse via road transport. We aim to find a more sustainable way to transport our goods from production to warehouse, so we can contribute to improving the environmental impact that transport has on the planet.
How we work with responsibility
04. Warehouse
In our warehouse, we exclusively use FSC mix certified packaging and recyclable packing fill. We have digitised wherever possible to save on paper. We always advise the end-consumer to reuse or recycle the packaging their products are delivered in. Remember to reuse before you recycle!
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The four focus areas mentioned are closely linked to UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 12 on promoting responsible consumption and production – a goal that we, as a newer company, have a particular focus on integrating into our business practices. We continuously work to make conscious choices regarding production, materials, and ingredients to contribute to a more balanced and well-considered approach to consumption in the skincare industry.
In addition, we have also initiated measures related to other Sustainable Development Goals, including:
Goal No. 03
UN Sustainable Development Goal no. 3 on Good Health and Well-being is an important guideline in our product development work. We are dedicated to formulating skincare products without ingredients that are known to be problematic or unnecessary, and which may cause concern for the consumer. All our products are dermatologically tested, and several are also either clinically documented, AllergyCertified, vegan, or perfume-free – depending on their purpose and target group.
We want information about our products to be transparent and easily accessible, so that consumers can make an informed choice. Therefore, ingredient and certification information is clearly stated on the packaging.
We do not use silicone in our formulations. Although silicone itself is not considered harmful to health in skincare, we have opted not to use it for environmental reasons, as it degrades very slowly in nature. Therefore, all our products are declared silicone-free.
Goal No. 12
The four focus areas mentioned already reflect how we relate to UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 12 on responsible consumption and production. As a new player in the market, it is important for us to take a stand on how we navigate an industry characterized by high consumption and extensive production.
At Apeer, we want to take responsibility by thinking consciously and long-term, both in the development and distribution of our products. Our approach to skincare is based on offering dermatologically tested formulations with active ingredients, developed to meet various skin needs – with care and functionality at the center.
We are first and foremost a skincare brand, but we also work with the ambition to contribute to more ethical and responsible production. This means that we continuously make choices that aim to reduce waste and support a more balanced approach to consumption.
Goal No. 14
Global Goal No. 14 on Life Below Water is an area we actively address in our product development and packaging choices. We strive to consider the marine ecosystem and its biodiversity by, among other things, using PCR plastic (Post-Consumer Recycled plastic) in our packaging, which reduces the need for new plastic production and can help lessen the burden on the world's oceans.
Furthermore, we use a plant-based version of the ingredient Squalane, which is an alternative to Squalene extracted from shark liver. This form is chosen partly out of consideration for animal welfare, and partly because the hydrogenated, plant-based version is more stable in formulation and function.
